Angel Otom notches another gold in ASEAN Para Games; Para athletics bets continue medal haul


Angel Otom snatched another gold medal in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games as she ruled the women's 50m butterfly S5 para swimming event on Wednesday at the Morodok Techo Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

 

 

Otom, who reigned supreme in 200m individual medley SM5 on Tuesday, clocked in 47.33 seconds to add another gold to her collection. Vietnamese bets Nguyen Thi Sari and Danh Thi My Thanh snared the silver and bronze.

Meanwhile, the duo of Benedicto Gaela and Linard Sultan settled for silver in the para table tennis TT9 after losing to the Malaysian pair of Brady Zi Rong Chin and Chee Chaoming, 0-3, in the finals at the Table Tennis Hall in Morodok Techo Stadium.

The para athletics representatives, on the other hand, continued their medal haul with Jerome Fernandez bagging the bronze in men's 400m T46 after clocking in 54.51 seconds.

Cendy Asusano took home another medal as she finished third in women's discus throw F54 while Rosalie Torrefiel also clinched bronze in discus throw F11.

Asusano snared the gold in women's javelin throw F54 last Monday while Torrefiel reigned supreme in javelin throw F11 yesterday.
