After two silvers, King James Reyes finally notches ASEAN Para Games gold in men's 800m
After a pair of runner-up finishes, para athletics' King James Reyes finally punched his first gold in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games after reigning supreme in the men's 800m T46 final on Tuesday in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Reyes clocked in two minutes and 13.22 seconds to rule the event while Muhammad Ashraf Muhammad Haisham of Malaysia settled for silver with a close two minutes and 13.25-second output.
Tran Van Duc of Vietnam claimed the bronze with two minutes and 13.26 seconds.
Reyes bagged two silver medals on Monday, finishing second in men's 5000m T46 and 1500m T46.
Over in judo, the men's team composed of Christian Philif Belarmino, Deterson Omas, Carlito Agustin Jr. claimed a bronze medal after outlasting Malaysia in the battle for third.
