Evaristo Carbonel rules men's javelin throw in ASEAN Para Games

Evaristo Carbonel delivered another gold medal finish for the Philippines as he ruled the men's javelin throw F11 of the 2023 ASEAN Para Games on Monday night in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Carbonel registered a 23.98m throw to reign supreme in a five-man field composed of only him and four other bets from host Cambodia. Roeun Rin settled for silver with 18.28m while his compatriot Lach Ryna bagged the bronze after a 17.88m output.

This is the Philippines' 12th gold while Sibol men's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team delivered the 13th after sweeping Malaysia in the grand finals.

Two para chess players in AGM Henry Roger Lopez and Menandro Redor delivered two bronze in men's individual rapid chess PI and rapid chess VI-B2, respectively.

Edwin Villanueva, meanwhile, also finished with a bronze mint in the men's 50m breaststroke SB7 category while para athletics' Jerome Fernandez and Arvie Arreglado likewise wound up third in men's 100m T46 and men's 100m T47.
