Efren 'Bata' Reyes defeats Manny Pacquiao in Legend vs Legend billiards exhibition
Billiards living legend Efren "Bata" Reyes emerged victorious against former eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao in a legends only exhibition match last night at Mansion Sports Bar & Lounge in Makati.
Reyes, touted by many as the greatest of all time in billiards, leaned on his experience to win the race to 9 exhibition. Pacquiao, to his credit, put up a fight early in the game with his pocketing but was punished by Reyes later on after a series of errors.
"It is an honor to play against our hero, though I did not know that he got good in billiards. I thought he only plays chess. It would be good to do an exhibition like this again," Reyes said in the post-match interview.
"It is an honor to play with a legend of billiards. I'm grateful to be part of this exhibition game with Reyes, one of the greatest billiards players of all time. This is a unique opportunity to showcase the diversity and depth of Filipino talents," Pacquiao said.
With Pacquiao going to billiards, Reyes was jokingly asked if he would be keen on crossing over to boxing—a question he gamely answered with a hearty smile.
"I am going to sleep if we do boxing," Reyes said with a laugh.
