Another Filipino jin came through for a gold medal as Patrick King Perez ruled the men’s individual recognized poomsae event in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games’ taekwondo competitions on Friday.
Perez followed up the gold medal of the women’s recognized poomsae team from earlier in the competition as he won one of his own, notching the 30th gold medal for Team Philippines in the ongoing SEA Games.
He had previously won two silver medals in the SEA games as part of the mixed freestyle team in the 2019 edition and the men’s recognized team last year.
This was the Philippines' third gold medal of the day after Agatha Wong topped the women's taijiquan + taijijian event in wushu and the team of Jocel Lyn Ninobla, Aidaine Laxa, and Nicole Labayne triumphed in the women’s recognized poomsae team event earlier in the day.
