Vanessa Sarno bags three silvers in 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships

Filipino weightlifter Vanessa Sarno bagged three silver medals in the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Tuesday in Jinju, South Korea.

Sarno lifted 107kg in snatch and 132kg in clean & jerk to get a total of 239kg and placed second in the women's 71kg group.

Sarno came second behind China's Liao Guifang who lifted a total of 268 kg, and ahead of Chinese Taipei's Chen Wen-Huei who lifted 232 kg.

Compatriot Kristel Machoron finished eight among 13 competitors with a total lift of 218kg.

Sarno is expected to compete in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games weightlifting events which will start on Saturday.
