Casares, Remolino make 1-3 finish in men's triathlon; Mangrobang claims silver in women's event
Fer Casares defended his title in men's triathlon in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games on Monday in Cambodia, while his compatriot Andrew Kim Remolino finished third.
Casares clocked 58 minutes and 32 seconds to claim the gold medal, ahead of Indonesia's Rashif Amila Yaqin who registered 58:45. Remolino, on the other hand, registered 59:53 to claim the bronze medal.
Remolino on Saturday also bagged a silver medal in aquathlon.
In the women's side, Kim Mangrobang (1:05:31) finished second behind Cambodia's Margot Garabedian (1:07:21) to win silver. Singapore's Louisa Middleditch placed third with 1:07:28 while Filipino Raven Faith Alcoseba was more than a second shy of the podium as she logged 1:08:46 to finish third.
Mangrobang on Sunday won the gold medal in duathlon.
On Sunday night, esports team Sibol also claimed their first gold in the Cambodia Games as they won in League of Legends wild rift.
The Philippines currently has 15 gold medals in the biennial meet.
