Francis Ngannou asking for 'unrealistic money', says BKFC boss
Bareknuckle Fighting Championship President and CEO David Feldman has warned that former UFC heavyweight world champion Francis Ngannou should start making his next career move before he loses his market value.
The 36-year-old Ngannou parted ways with the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization UFC earlier this year after not coming to terms about renewing his contract. The separation resulted in Ngannou getting stripped of the world title, and he has been a free agent since.
“Francis Ngannou is someone that we have certainly reached out to. We have talked to him, talked to his team,” Feldman said in the press conference for BKFC 41.
“At this point, we just feel like he is asking for unrealistic money and we are not willing to pay that kind of money for him. I do think he needs to make his mind up pretty soon because as the days go on his value will start to drop a little bit.”
BKFC has become a home to some of the best MMA stars in recent years including former Bellator and UFC lightweight world champion Eddie Alvarez and former UFC middleweight world champion Luke Rockhold.
Ngannou, for his part, said last month that he is nearing a deal with either PFL or ONE Championship.
