KarlTzy out to give Echo an MPL crown after bagging Player of the Year plum

Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno seems to have it all. The veteran jungler, dubbed by some fans as the "GOAT," has two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang world championships under his belt after leading Bren in M2 and then Echo in M4.

The 18-year-old also steered Bren to the MPL Season 6 throne and the SEA Games title when his former team ruled the 2019 biennial edition.

On Wednesday, KarTzy added another feather to his cap as he was named the MPL Philippines Press Corps Player of the Year during their first-ever awards night.

But the long-time MLBB player remains hungry for more, saying he's out to give Echo its first MPL title and the MSC championship.

"Gusto ko bigyan ng MPL Championship ['yung Echo] tapos MSC naman," said KarlTzy when asked what more he wants after already bagging a plethora of achievements.

KarlTzy, however, admitted that he didn't expect to receive the award from the scribes regularly covering the league as he thought it would be his teammate in Sanford "Sanford" Vinuya.

"'Di ko inexpect e, akala ko isa lang 'yung award ko," he said. "Siguro para sa akin ang Player of the Year ay si Sanford."

KarlTzy was also included in the All-MPL Team alongside teammates Sanji and Bennyqt, as well as RSG Slate's Light and Blacklist International's Edward.

According to KarlTzy, copping the Player of the Year plum is a testament that he has more believers than doubters as he and Echo continue their MPL Season 11 campaign, where the Orcas are currently unbeaten in five games.

"Nakakatuwa kasi [kahit] maraming nagda-doubt, mas marami 'yung nagtitiwala sa akin," he said. "Grateful ako doon."
