Danny Kingad manhandles Saputra at ONE Fight Night 7

Danny Kingad of Baguio City’s Team Lakay proved better in every aspect of mixed martial arts over Eko Roni Saputra following a unanimous decision win over the latter at ONE Fight Night 7 this Saturday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Kingad went to work early by scoring a takedown in the opening minute of the contest. While on the mat, Kingad took the back and locked a body triangle where he attempted a choke. The bout soon got back to their feet where both threw with bad intentions before the end of the round.

A grappling exchange took place in round two before they fought on their feet again. Kingad proved superior in the striking department landing punches and kicks to the head and body and even stunning Saputra with an elbow at one point.

It was a back-and-forth action in the third and final round with both fighters engaging on the mat once more. Kingad took the back and then transitioned to an armbar before trying a choke, but was unable to force a tap from his foe on both attempts.

All three judges saw the fight for Kingad after five five-minute rounds. Kingad, the no. 3 rated flyweight in the world, improved his mixed martial arts record to 15-3 while Saputra fell to 7-2.
