Filipino striker Fritz Biagtan made a successful ONE Championship debut following a third-round knockout over Uzbekistan’s Nurmukhammad Adamkhonov at ONE Friday Fights 5 this Friday evening at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Biagtan, 27, was relentless in the early and never allowed his opponent to find his rhythm as he unloaded strikes to the head and body. Adamkhonov mostly fought moving backward, landing some strikes of his own here and there.
The lack of engagement prompted the referee to show a yellow card to both fighters in round three. The warning turned out to be a wake-up call for Biagtan, as he unleashed a barrage of punches that sent Adamkhonov crashing to the canvas.
With Adamkhonov Down and hurt, the referee immediately stepped in to halt the contest at the 4:36 mark of round three, improving Biagtan’s mixed martial arts record to 5-1.
