Brandon Moreno TKOs Figueiredo to become undisputed UFC flyweight champ

Brandon Moreno ended his rivalry with Deiveson Figueiredo with an exclamation point following a technical knockout over the latter to become the undisputed UFC flyweight world champion in the co-main event of UFC 283 this Sunday (Manila time) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Moreno quickly scored a takedown in the opening minute of the contest. While on the ground, Moreno was unable to execute anything significant and the fight soon got back on their feet where they traded punches and kicks throughout the round

Moreno pushed the pace in round two mixing his strikes and takedowns. In round three, Moreno had Figueiredo bleeding below his left eye after landing a clean left hook on the latter.

With his left eye shut, Figueiredo was deemed unable to continue by the ringside physician before the start of round 4. This resulted in a third-round technical knockout in favor of Moreno, improving his record to 21-6-2 while Figueiredo fell to 21-3-1.
