KarlTzy set to meet Kairi anew as Echo arranges semis date with Onic
JAKARTA — The upper bracket semifinals clash between the Philippines' Echo and Onic Esports of host Indonesia in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M4 World Championship is slated to be one for the books for fans of both teams.
The best-of-five series will see Filipino ML:BB stars Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and Kairi "Kairi" Rayosdelsol meet again after the latter decided to leave the Philippine scene to play as an import for the powerhouse Indonesian club.
And as KarlTzy is set to clash with Kairi in the Land of Dawn once again, he gave a message to his compatriot.
"Good luck [to us]. Just give [the] fans a good game," KarlTzy said on the heels of their stunning 3-2 victory over Team HAQ of Malaysia on Saturday night.
KarlTzy and the Orcas pulled off a sweep of the group stage, beating another strong Indonesian squad in RRQ Hoshi before defeating Occupy Thrones and RSG Singapore for a clean 3-0 slate and an upper bracket berth.
And while Onic could prove to be a tougher challenge, KarlTzy said he's confident that his team can also beat them as Echo is knowledgeable about Onic's game style.
"We're confident that we can beat Onic because we know their play styles and my teammates are better. And our strategy is secret," the M2 Finals MVP said.
Kairi, on the other hand, has been steady for Onic, showing the way in their knockout stage meeting against Falcon, whom they swept in three games to move forward in the competition.
