Figure skaters from the Philippine Skating Union and Kapuso stars Ashley Ortega and Skye Chua performed in the fundraiser 'Carols on Ice' held at the SM Skating Mall of Asia last December 22.

Among those who performed in the fundraiser were former Olympian Michael Martinez, Asian Open Figure Skating champion Sofia Frank, national champion Edrian Celestino, and international medalists and skating duo Isabella Gamez and Alexander Korovin.

Sparkle stars Ashley Ortega and Skye Chua also performed in the fundraiser.

"All the proceeds will go to the figure skaters who will represent the country when they compete," Ortega, a former national figure skater said on Aubrey Carampel's 24 Oras report.

"We really appreciate all the help that you give us because our skaters really are in need of this help. It will help us in our future competitions and it will help us improve ourselves," added Chua, who is also a national team member.

GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes also showed her support in the program, along with Sparkle Assistant Vice President for Talent Management and Development Joy Marcelo.

"This is a fundraising event and at the same time, kasama si Ashley and Skye, both Sparkle talents and soon, mapapanood nila ang 'Hearts on Ice' sa GMA Primetime," said Gozon-Valdes.

"Sobra kaming natuwa na gumawa sila ng event na ganito since this is for charity. Very talented naman 'yung dalawa (Ortega and Chua)," said Marcelo.

"Hearts on Ice" is an upcoming GMA show which will also highlight figure skating. Xian Lim will also star in the upcoming series.
