Philippines' Sofia Frank wins gold in Asian Open Figure Skating Championship

Philippine figure skater Sofia Frank won the gold in the Asian Open Figure Skating Championship held in Jakarta, Indonesia from December 7-9.

Frank bested eight other competitors and tallied a total of 143.97 points from both short program and free skate in the senior women category.

In an Instagram post, Frank described the competition as an 'amazing experience.'

"Such an amazing experience, I loved meeting everyone," she wrote.

Joanna So of Hong Kong and Ting Tzu-Han of Chinese Taipei placed second and third in the category. Meanwhile, fellow Philippine skater Skye Chua finished seventh in the competition.
