Wise's draft suggestion pivotal in overcoming championship series deficit, Blacklist teammates say

Blacklist International took their third franchise title on Sunday in the MPL Philippines but had to overcome a 2-1 deficit against Echo as Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario's brilliance came into play when he suggested a pivotal draft idea that turned the series around.

During the team huddle, Wise suggested to prioritize Edward "Edward" Dapadap's heroes instead of his own to change the complexion of the draft.

"Napansin ko yung inaadjust namin palitan lang. Walang kakaiba sa gagawin namin eh dalawang beses na kami natalo sa palitan na iyon. So sabi ko i-try naman natin iyong Benedetta tas nag-go naman sila," Wise revealed to the press.

Edward went on to finish with 5-1-8 in Game 4 that equalized the series and built enough momentum for the team.

Even team captain Jonmar "OhMyV33NUS" Villaluna considers the idea as the spark that pushed Blacklist to take the next three matches.

"One of the biggest reason kung bakit kami nakicomeback ng Game 4 is yung isang bagay na si Wise lang yung nakakita. Even ako or yung ibang players, even yung analysts and coaches namin di nakita yung bagay na iyon and yun yung sinabi ni Wise na i-high pick natin yung Benedetta and i-sacrifice na lang natin yung hero ko," reveals The Queen.

"Lahat ng preparations namin plano na talaga namin na kunin yung hero ni Wise pero yung time na iyon, iyon din sana yung plano namin pero bigla nalang sinabi ni Wise na i-high pick na lang natin yung hero ni Edward and then ako na yung magiging sacrifice and yung sacrifice na iyon yung isa sa mga importanteng bagay kung bakit kami nag-champion ngayon and nakakuha kami ng momentum"

With the change in draft strategy, Edward went on rampage and delivered the highlight plays that helped Blacklist take another championship.

His performance garnered him his second grand finals MVP but for him, it was Wise who should've been the MVP owing to his crucial contribution in their draft strategy.

"For me MVP talaga si Wise e kasi siya yung nag-suggest ng Benedetta pick, na-execute ko lang naman. Ayun, nag tuluy-tuloy na," he said.

Blacklist co-owner Tryke Guttierez echoed the team's sentiments.

"Feeling ko sobrang pivotal talaga nung pagkakacomment ni Wise dun sa Benedetta," he said.

"Mas important talaga yung Game 4 kasi nung nacrack yun, mas tumaas na yung kumpiyansa ng lahat eh. Pagpasok ng Game 5, alam na nung lahat na sila na yung takot sa Blacklist versus parang kami yung nagrereact dun sa ginagawa ng Echo."
