V33Wise takes back MPL PH title as Blacklist conquers Echo in S10 grand finals
Star jungler Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario showed flexibility in the grand finals to propel Blacklist International to a record third title with a 4-2 conquest of Echo in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 10 grand finals on Sunday.
It was Blacklist's third title in four seasons, and the third straight for the star duo of Wise and Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna since Season 7.
Blacklist revealed one of their hidden cards right from the get go, picking up the Valentina jungler and opting to go with the triple purify spells to counter Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera's Kadita that gave Echo a hard time from the early game.
Wise played spectacularly in the Valentina and finished with a perfect 7-0-5 KDA to lead Blacklist's 13-5 dominance on the kill tally to take the opener.
Echo responded with a surprising roaming Valir pick in Game 2 that they utilized to take a 2-0 pick off during a 2nd minute turtle fight to cocontrol of the match.
With Echo easily securing all the turtle buffs and the lords, the Orcas dominated Game 2 and equalized with a dominant 10-3 kill tally.
The Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno-led squad continued to pressure Blacklist early in Game 3, taking a 7-2 kill spread but Wise (Barats) snagged a clutch lord steal in the 9th minute to take some breathing room.
Yawi (Jawhead) though took matters into his own hands, executing timely flicker + ejector plays to score crucial pick offs, highlighted by a 4-0 shutout in the 13th minute to give Echo a 2-1 series lead.
In Game 4, Blacklist imposed their will early on taking a 4-0 wipe early by the 4th minute then score two unanswered pickoffs in the 6th minute to secure the turtle buff with a 7-2 kill spread.
It was all Blacklist from there highlighted by a 13th minute 3-0 wipe that completely put Echo at bay, 2-2.
Blacklist lorded over the early goings of Game 5, starting off with a 3rd minute 3-0 wipe then a 5-2 wipeout in the 7th minute to establish a 6k gold lead.
The reigning world champions concluded their dominant display with a 5-1 wipeout in the 13th minute to reach match point, 3-2.
Game 6 boiled down to a lengthy 17th minute team fight where Blacklist displayed superb mechanical display in dodging Echo's aggression then scored a 3-0 wipe that provided them with a one-way midlane push for the championship.
