Duo of Isabella Gamez and Aleksandr Korovin claim Philippines' first int'l medal in figure skating pairs

The duo of Isabella Gamez and Aleksandr Korovin made history as it won its first international medal in the pairs event of figure skating.

Gamez and Korovin finished second out of seven competitors in the 2nd Trophee Metropole Nice Cote D'Azur in Nice, France.

The duo garnered a total of 143.54 points to claim the silver medal behind Italy's Irma Caldara and Riccardo Maglio who finished with 152.27 for the top spot. France's Oxana Vouillamoz and Flavien Giniaux settled for third with 143.38 points.

According to the Philippine Skating Union, the pair also garnered qualification points for the Four Continents Championships in January 2023.
