OhMyV33NUS after beating Bren: 'Hopefully hindi na namin sila makatapat ulit'
On Friday, Blacklist International moved one step closer to a back-to-back world championship appearance in the M-series but not before coming from behind in a grueling five-game series against M2 world champions Bren Esports.
For Blacklist captain Jonmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, Bren's performance against them is proof of how strong they are as a team and a legitimate championship contender this season.
"Parang mas more than sa ineexpect namin ang pinakita nila kaya sobrang saludo ako sa kanila. Like legit," reveals the Season 10 MVP.
"Feeling ko mahihirapan yung makakalaban nila. And hopefully hindi na namin sila makatapat ulit."
Bren Esports actually took a 2-1 series lead but Blacklist bounced back with a dominant Game 4 performance banking on OhMyV33NUS' Estes pick to force a rubber match.
In Game 5, Blacklist needed a clutch performance from everyone on the team before putting away a persky Bren squad in the 26th minute.
Head Coach Bon "BONN CHAN" Ricaplaza echoed the Queen's sentiments and acknowledged the huge improvement Bren has shown this season.
"Kaya sinasabi namin na Bren ang lason ngayong season dahil yung ineexpect ng karamihan ng fans ngayon iba ang inaasahan nila na top teams. Like inaasahan nila yung Omega, ECHO, RSG. Pero itong Bren kasi underdogs sila na alam natin na kaya nila tumalo ng top teams," he said.
"Kita niyo naman yung performance nila kahit natalo talagang napaabot ng Game 5. Umaabot ng 25 minutes, 30 minutes. Grabe yung performance nila ngayong season grabe yung inimprove nila."
