RSG scores back-to-back sweeps, deals Echo second season loss
After stumbling to a 1-2 early season record, RSG Philippines looks to have regained their championship form, scoring a 2-0 sweep of Echo in Week 4 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines on Saturday.
The reigning MLBB Southeast Asian Cup champion has now put together three straight wins, two coming from sweeps, to leapfrog their victims to third spot in the standings with 11pts.
Echo's Alston “Sanji” Pabico (Selena) had a field day in Game 1, connecting on a couple of Abyssal Arrows in the early game to take a 2-0-2 KDA by the 8th minute.
His superb Selena play came in full display during a disadvantaged 3v5 lord fight during the 9th minute where he caught Eman “EMANN” Sangco (Claude) then followed it up with another burst down on Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto (Paquito) to secure the lord for themselves.
Echo looked to have wrestled control of the match but an ill-advised 14th minute inhibitor turret aggression in the midlane led to a 4-1 exchange for RSG that the defending champions used to score a one-way push and pull ahead, 1-0.
In Game 2, RSG opted to pick Faramis for Arvie “Aqua” Antonio that paid divided right away as they won the first two turtle fights en route to a 6th minute 6-0 kill spread.
RSG did not let up and continued with the aggression, not letting Echo find their late game winning conditions and denying Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Alice) the rest of the way to complete the sweep.
