Brandon Vera looks to reclaim ONE world title

Former ONE heavyweight world champion Brandon Vera is itching to return to action and hopefully regain the gold-plated strap he once held.

Vera, 16-9 as a mixed martial artist, has suffered back-to-back defeats via stoppage. He last saw action in May 2021 against Arjan Bhullar where he lost the title by way of technical knockout.

“I cannot wait to get back and show you how we've been training and what we've been doing,” Vera said.

“Our goal, our dream is to bring our championship belt back home to the Philippines. That's my number one goal now.”

Eager to extend his legacy beyond the cage, the 44-year-old Vera says his goal is to inspire the youth into getting into martial arts.

“The only thing that's ever made me really happy about my reach and how far our reach is in the Philippines is when all the kids in the province know who I am,” Vera shared.

“For me, that’s a big deal. Like, they’ll tell me ‘I want to be a fighter like you. I want to fight in the ring.’ That’s the biggest deal to me.”
