Hidilyn Diaz marks anniversary of historic Olympic gold with another special moment

It has been a year since Hidilyn Diaz won the Philippines' first Olympic gold medal for the Philippines.

Diaz commemorated the anniversary of her historic feat with a post on her social media accounts on Tuesday.

"Today marks the first anniversary of our winning the Gold medal in the Olympics  for the Philippines," she wrote.

Diaz won the Olympic gold after lifting a total of 224 kg in the women's 55 kg event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The first anniversary of her historic feat also coincides with another special moment in her life: Her wedding day.

"Today also will be a memorable day for @imjulius and me, we will get married today," she wrote.

The couple will get married in Baguio today.
