Brian Poe to race for Porsche Design in Radical SR1 Cup Philippines
Brian Poe-Llamanzares, the son of Sen. Grace Poe, will soon be driving for Porsche Design on the race circuit!
According to a press release, he is set to participate in the Radical SR1 Cup Philippines, a club racing competition.
The development was announced during the 50th anniversary party of Porsche Design Manila.
"It is an honor and a privilege to have been given this opportunity thanks to my sponsor and team. I wouldn't have been able to race without their help," he said.
Poe-Llamanzares joined Radical Cars in January and began his career training under seasoned driver Marlon Stockinger.
The rookie racer recognized the potential of motor racing growing in popularity in the Philippines.
"Sports in general provide jobs and inspiration. People don't realize that racing is a team sport. You need to employ a full team of engineers and mechanics," he said.
"It's a good ecosystem for employment and can attract businesses to the country, like the F1 series, which takes place all over the world."
Radical SR1 Cup Philippines will be held at the Clark International Speedway on August 26 to 28 and October 21-23. It will also be staged in the Batangas Racing Circuit on September 23 to 25.
The Radical SR1 Cup is organized by Radical Motorsports, which manufactures racing cars all over the world. It has sold over 2,000 vehicles in the last 20 years.
