Bowling legend Bong Coo appointed new PSC commissioner

Olivia "Bong" Coo is set to take a new role in the sports industry.

The Filipina bowling legend has been appointed by the Philippine Sports Commission as one of the four commissioners for the new administration. The government sports agency announced the development on Tuesday, with Coo being welcomed by executive director Atty. Guillermo Iroy Jr.

As an athlete, Coo has brought the country so much pride after winning a number of medals in various tournaments including five golds, two silvers, and three bronzes in the Asian Games as well as eight gold medals in the SEA Games.

The 74-year-old Coo had also ruled 14 editions of the Asian Championships from 1970 to 1992.

After Coo's appointment, the PSC will still name one chairman and three commissioners.
