Carlos Yulo bags all-around silver in Asian Championships

Fresh from a multi-medal campaign in the 31st Southeast Asian Games, Carlos Yulo continued his winning ways and finished with a silver medal in the 9th Senior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships on Thursday in Doha, Qatar.

The Filipino gymnast tallied 83.767 in the apparatuses to land on second place behind gold medalist Shi Cong of China. Completing the podium is China's Yang Jiaxing with the bronze.

According to the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), the 22-year-old Yulo became the first Filipino to ever deliver a podium finish in the said tournament.

Yulo, a world champion in floor exercise in 2019 and in vault in 2021, competed in the Tokyo Olympics last year.

He also bagged a total of five gold medals and two silver medals in the Vietnam SEA Games, emerging as the most bemedaled athlete as the Philippines finished fourth overall.
