RSG PH on bouncing back from stinging Game 2 loss: Trust, reset, come back stronger

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Analysts and pundits in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional scene have pegged RSG Philippines as the team to beat in the ongoing MLBB Southeast Asian Cup owing to their dominant MPL Philippines Season 9 playoffs run where they took the title via a dominant 10-1 championship conquest.

But they were quickly caught off guard when they found themselves on the back end of a surprising comeback loss against Myanmar's Falcon Esports.

The Philippine Champions still looked like their usual lethal self when they took the group stages by storm sweeping RSG Singapore and Cambodia's See You Soon. They were dominant in Game 1 against Falcon and were leading in Game 2 owing to a whopping 18-5 kill spread and a 10k net worth lead.

But things started going downhill from there as the Burmese slowly regained their bearings and survived RSG's exploits, taking a 30-minute comeback win.

Despite a deflating loss like that, RSG's response was simple:

"Reset. Don't mind the loss," said Karl “Giee” Barrientos.

Coach Gie believes that his team performs even better once they suffer from losses and their methodic Game 3 close out win was proof of his claim.

"Every time we lose, we come back stronger. We reset and came back stronger in Game 3."

One of RSG's main cannons, goldlaner Eman “EMANN” Sangco, attributed their successful recovery in Game 3 to the team's trust in each other.

Himself suffering from a woeful Game 2 performance where he finished with a 0-6-12 KDA , EMANN put everything behind right away with words of encouragement from his teammates.

"Dapat tapos na talaga yun eh (sa Game 2). Sinugal na namin sa tower lock (pero) ayun di ko nagawa," EMANN says about his Game 2 hiccup.

"Chineer nila akong lahat. Ayun, lumakas loob ko ulit."

With the team reaching the Top 6, this mentality would only bode well in their bid for a first-ever international title for the franchise.
