Alex Eala assured of at least two more bronze medals in SEA Games
In her maiden SEA Games campaign, Alex Eala has been nothing short of impressive.
The 16-year-old sensation is assured of at least two more bronze medals after her victories in the quarterfinals of both the women's singles and mixed doubles events of the 31st SEA Games on Wednesday in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Eala made quick work of Jo Leen Saw of Malaysia, 6-2, 6-0, to move on to the semifinal round. Regardless of the result of her next match, though, Eala will automatically take home the bronze medal.
The case is the same with her campaign in the mixed doubles event as she and partner Treat Huey drew a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory over Laos' Sataporn Simmalavong and Phonephathep Philavong.
These are on top of Eala's bronze finish in the women's team event as she and teammates Shaira Rivera, Marian Capadocia, and Jenaila Prulla claimed the medal last Saturday.
