Filipina tanker Chloe Isleta bags first gold for Philippine swimming team


Chloe Isleta bagged the first-ever gold medal for the Philippine swimming team at the 31st Southeast Asian Games on Monday night in Hanoi, Vietnam.

 

 

Isleta reigned supreme in the women's 200m backstroke held at the My Dinh Water Sports Palace after clinching a time of two minutes and 18.60 seconds.

Indonesia's Nurul Fajar Fitriyati claimed the silver medal while Thailand's Mia Millar settled fro bronze after they clocked in two minutes and 19.79 seconds and two minutes and 19.90 seconds, respectively.

In the 2019 SEA Games, Isleta captured a total of three medals, a silver in the 100m backstroke, bronze in the 200m backstroke, and a silver in the 4x100m medley relay alongside teammates Desirae Mangaoang, Remedy Rule, and Jasmine Alkhaldi.
