The Filipina athlete registered a final score of 1,320 to settle for second place while Singaporeans Shi Hua Cherie Tan and Hui Fen New scored 1,442 and 1,319 to grab the gold and bronze medals, respectively.
Sy's latest feat complemented the gold medal-finish of Merwin Tan earlier in the men's singles event, where he quenched the country's 11-year drought in the sport.
Meanwhile, the Philippine fencing team captured a pair of bronze medals as the women's epee team, composed of Anna Gabriella Guinto, Ivy Claire Dinoy, Wilhelmina Lozada and Justine Gail Tinio, finished second in the event.
