Fencer Sam Catantan wins gold in Hanoi SEA Games
The Philippines added another gold to its medal haul.
Sam Catantan on Saturday ruled the women's fencing individual foil event to give the Philippines its eighth gold medal.

Catantan defeated Singapore's Maxine Jie Xin Wong, 14-12, in the finals.
The fencer joins Francine Padios (pencak silat), Jack Escarpe (kurash), Carlos Yulo (gymnastics), Gina Araos Iniong (kickboxing), Jean Claude Saclag (kickboxing), Fer Casares (triathlon), and Kim Mangrobang (triathlon) in the Philippines' list of gold medalists in the biennial meet.
Meanwhile, Noelito Jose Jr. claimed a silver medal after falling short against Vietnam's Nhat Nguyen Tien in the men's epee individual finals.
