Dustin Poirier makes good on his promise, donates money to UFC champ's social program

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier came through with his promise of making a donation to UFC lightweight world champion Charles Oliveira’s charity of choice.

Poirier and Oliveira locked horns inside the cage last December at UFC 269 where the latter emerged victorious via submission in the third round.

Shortly after the fight, Poirier approached Oliveira and expressed his desire to make a donation to Brazil.

The latter chose his social program Charles Oliveira Institute where underprivileged kids learn martial arts for free in Guaruja, Brazil.

“Promise made promise kept!” Poirier’s charity The Good Fight Foundation announced on Instagram today.

“We are supporting Charles and his mission to empower the youth of Brazil. All the best to you in your upcoming title defense.”

Oliveira, 32-8 as a professional mixed martial artist, is slated to defend his gold-plated strap against the hard-hitting Justin Gaethje at UFC 274 on May 7.

The UFC is yet to announce Poirier's next fight.
