Alex Eala captures second pro title, rules W25 Thailand

Alex Eala is a champion once again.

The Filipina tennis sensation was in her element as she ruled the W25 Chiang Rai tournament in Thailand, beating home bet Luksika Kumkhum in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, on Sunday morning.

It is Eala's second pro title after she ruled the W15 Manacor tournament in 2021.

The win is also a redemption of sorts for Eala, who had been struggling in the beginning of the year. Prior to the Thailand tiff, the 16-year-old netter joined a total of six tourneys but her best finish were just second round appearances in W60 Grenoble and W25 Joue les Tours.

Eala also saw action in the Miami Open but was dealt an early exit after bowing to American bet Madison Brengle in the opening round of the main draw.

With her latest victory, Eala is set to bag $25,000 of prize money.
