Stone Cold Steve Austin makes in-ring return, beats Kevin Owens at Wrestlemania 38

Professional wrestling legend Stone Cold Steve Austin made his in-ring return after close to 20 years away in the main event of Night One of Wrestlemania 38 on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Austin, one of the sports entertainment industry’s biggest stars during its boom period in the late 90s, retired from in-ring competition in 2003 because of injuries.

But on Saturday, he came back for a no-holds barred match against active wrestler Kevin Owens, in which the legend emerged on top.

The segment was originally billed as a confrontation between the two, but developed into an official match, making it officially a comeback for the 57-year-old Austin.

'Stone Cold' is a six-time world champion and has headlined multiple Wrestlemanias.

Nicknamed the ‘Texas Rattlesnake’, Austin was well-known for his 'Austin 3:16' and other catchphrases, his Stone Cold Stunner signature move, his memorable feud with WWE owner Vince McMahon, and the image of him drinking cans of beer while standing on the turnbuckles.
