Thanh Le defends ONE title with highlight-reel KO over Gary Tonon

ONE featherweight world champion Thanh Le made a successful defense of his gold-plated strap following a highlight-reel knockout over grappling legend Gary Tonon in the main event of ONE: Lights Out this Friday evening at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

After feeling each other out with a few exchanges of strikes, Tonon pulled guard in hopes to lock the champion in his signature leg lock. Le however defended well from the submission attempt then pounded Tonon's wide-open face.

It took one clean right on top from Le to put the lights out of Tonon, leaving the latter senseless on the mat. Unable to defend himself, the referee jumped in to stop the contest at the 0:56 mark of round one. The win improved Le’s record to 13-2 while Tonon fell to 6-1.
