Drake loses six figures for betting on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272

Canadian rapper Drake lost over $275,000 for betting on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272.

Masvidal fought his former best friend Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 272 earlier today at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas where he lost by way of a lopsided unanimous decision.

Drake posted an Instagram story showing his bet on Masvidal which Bleacher Report estimated to be worth over $275,000.

Covington later addressed the rapper's bet after beating Masvidal.

“Let's talk about all the money Drake lost tonight. He needs to go back to selling those s—ty albums to get back the money,” Covington said at the UFC 272 post-fight press conference.

“I tried to give the people the pick of the week. I am America's champ and I was America's pick of the pick. Drake, you suck at sports betting go back to your s—ty little albums and rapping.”

Masvidal was a +255 underdog, meaning a bet like Drake's was expected to win $701,250 if the hard-hitting fan-favorite was able to pull off an upset.

Unfortunately for the rapper, Masvidal was barely able to put up a fight losing on all three scorecards 49-46, 50-45, and 50-44.
