Onic scores win No. 3 with squeaker over TNC in MPL PH S9

Onic Philippines completed a reverse sweep of TNC Pro Team, 2-1, to keep pace with the season leaders in Week 3 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 9 on Sunday.

Onic upped their win-loss card to 3-2 (8pts). TNC fell to 3-2 (11pts) but managed to keep their grip on the 2nd spot in the standings.

It was a see-saw battle early in Game 1 until TNC scored a 2-0 pick off in the 9th minute followed by a 4-0 wipe in the 12th courtesy of Robee Bryan “Yasuwo” Pormocille's (Clint) double kill to finally wrest control.

TNC then forced another 4-0 takedown in the 17th minute to finally take the opener, 1-0.

But Onic was not to be outdone, as they completely dominated in Game 2, zooming to a 9-0 kill domination at the 9th minute mark led by Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales's (Kagura) 4-0-1 KDA.

They completed the equalizer with a 13-1 domination on the kill tally in just 13 minutes.

Despite TNC opting for early game aggressiveness with the Selena and Paquito picks in Game 3, it was the three-time MPL runners-up who successfully disrupted the early-game of their rivals with nifty pick offs leading to a 4-0 kill spread in the 7th minute.

Onic never looked back from there and completed a 17th minute conquest of TNC with no deaths on a 7-0 kill tally.
