Hidilyn Diaz' weightlifting-inspired engagement ring
Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz just got more gold with her new engagement ring and it is inspired by probably her biggest achievement in sports.
In their social media post on Saturday, Manila Diamond Studio showed the design of Diaz' engagement ring with her coach Julius Naranjo.
The ring has a barbell-shaped design on top which carries the diamond, a design which Naranjo made with the studio.
"Philippines’ first Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz's engagement ring, was inspired by @hidilyndiaz’s love, strength and passion," the studio said in its caption.
Diaz and Naranjo also thanked Manila Diamond Studio for their wonderful creation.
Meanwhile, Diaz on Sunday morning shared more details about the night she was engaged.
"May birthday daw kaya nasa Vubble Dinner kami dito sa @sheratonmanila kaya triple date kame ni @missizacalzado at @laraquigaman saka may despidida party daw before kami aalis ng Malasyia kaya naman nagvlog pa ko, nagpapicture, at nagpacute pa ko," she wrote on Sunday. "'Yun pala mag-propose na!"
(They said there was a vubble dinner in Sheraton Manila and we were having a triple date with Iza Calzado and Lara Quigaman, and there was a despedida party before we left for Malaysia. I even shot my vlog, had pictures and was being cute. Apparently it was a proposal!"
The two announced their engagement on Saturday.
