Margielyn Didal to release new NM272 signature colorway inspired by Cebu's 'Pusô'
What Margielyn Didal used to sell on the streets in her youth is now the inspiration behind a new signature colorway of the NB Numeric 272 that footwear company New Balance will release in honor of the Filipina skater.
Now a recognized figure in the field of skateboarding, the 22-year-old wunderkind used 'Pusô' as an inspiration behind her own colorway, the NB Numeric Margielyn Didal 272.
'Pusô', or hanging rice, is a well-known Cebu delicacy that comes in a heart-shaped rice cake packed in woven palm leaves. As a kid, Didal grew up selling these next to a skatepark in her hometown.
The skate shoe comes in a black Suede and mesh upper designed for style and comfort. Based to the brand's website, the NB Numeric Margielyn Didal 272 can be bought at $79.99 or more or less P4,000.
This will not be the first time that Didal, who represented the Philippines in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, tried her hands at designing shoes. In April 2020, the Cebuana hotshot also collaborated with New Balance where she released the NM379 in colors inspired by the Philippine flag.
