NXPE stuns Echo, nears playoffs spot in MPL PH S8

NXP Evos finally solved the Echo puzzle as they scored a much needed win in the penultimate week, 2-0, of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 8 on Friday.

The win solidified NXPE's bid for playoff contention as they upped their total to 14 points, good for 5th place, whilst limiting Echo to 16 points (4th place).

It didn't look all that well in Game 1 though as Echo initially imposed their will early on with a runaway 6-0 kill lead by the 5th minute along with a 5k gold lead courtesy of Mark "Hadess" Lazaro's (Hayabusa) 4-0-1 KDA.

Despite an 11-2 kill deficit by the 11th minute, the Dogie-led squad held on and leaned on a superb outplay by Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara (Lunox) in the 20th minute where he took down three Echo members in the clash, including a double kill on Hadess and Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales (Kagura) that resulted in a 4-1 exchange.

NXPE then marched in the middle lane as they took Game 1 in one fell swoop despite being the pursuers all game long. Hesa finished with a 6-2-3 KDA to lead the dramatic comeback.

After a rousing Game 1 win, NXPE sustained the pressure on Echo and won the early game battles that helped John Paul “H2wo” Salonga (Hayabusa) snowball early.

The NXPE jungler led a 17-minute conquest of Echo with a 3-0-4 KDA. He got ample support once again from Hesa (Claude) who finished with a 2-0-3 KDA.
