Yuka Saso soars to No. 6 in women's golf world rankings
There is no stopping Yuka Saso as she continues to rise in women's golf.
The Filipino-Japanese golfer soared to no. 6 in the latest Rolex women's golf rankings, making a two-spot leap and marking her highest place so far in her budding career.
The 20-year-old athlete has an average of 5.64 points in 36 events she played.
Olympic gold medalist Nelly Korda of the United States is still on top with 10.33 average points while Koreans Jin young Ko (8.42), In Bee Park (7.35) and Sei Young Kim (7.07) are second, third, and fourth, respectively. New Zealand's Lydia Ko is fifth with 5.67 average points.
Saso recently jumped to no. 8 after she wrapped up her campaign at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where she finished with a total of 274 (-10) through four rounds.
She was also fresh from two competitions, the Trust Golf Women's Scottish Open, where she finished in joint 15th, and the 2021 AIG Women's Open, where she exited the tournament at 39th place.
