Yuka Saso ends AIG Women's Open campaign in 39th
Yuka Saso could not arrest her slump in the 2021 AIG Women's Open as she finished with an aggregate score of 288 to wind up 39th along with two other participants.
The FIlipino-Japanese golfer fired three-over 75 in the fourth and final round on Sunday night (Manila time) at the Carnoustie Championship Course in Scotland as she finished out of podium contention.
Saso, who recently saw action at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, hit early bogeys in the first, third, and ninth holes. She closed out the front nine with birdies on the four-par second and five-par sixth holes.
The 20-year-old hit five pars on the back nine while she unleashed three more birdies but a bogey in the 10th hole pulled her 12 places down from her 27th place-output in the penultimate round.
This was Saso's second tough finish after starting hot in the tournament where she stayed within the Top 5 through the first two rounds.
Topping the contest is Anna Nordqvist of Sweden while tied at the second spot are Georgia Hall of England, Madelene Sagstrom, and Lisette Salas.
