Hidilyn Diaz receives condominium unit from Megaworld
The pledges for Hidilyn Diaz continue to turn into actual rewards as she received her newest condominium unit on Monday.
Property developer Megaworld Corporation handed Diaz a two-bedroom fully furnished unit at One Eastwood Avenue, which is worth P14 million. The unit has also been curated by the property developer's in-house interior design team.
“All that Hidilyn and her family need to do is just bring their clothes and other personal effects, and they are good to stay in the unit," Megaworld chief strategy officer Kevin Tan said in a statement.
"We are excited to welcome her and her family and loved ones to Eastwood City, particularly in this newest residential condominium tower in our first-ever township. She has brought so much pride to our country and she deserves all these rewards for her hard work in raising our flag so high in the Tokyo Olympics."
Megaworld also commissioned a charcoal painting of Diaz' winning moment in the games. The painting was done by fine arts student John Ken Gomez.
“The story of Hidilyn’s victory is a great source of inspiration for Filipinos. I hope every time she looks at that artwork, she will be reminded that she is a symbol of hope and pride for all of us,” Gomez said.
Diaz on July 26 made history as the country's first Olympic gold medalist after ruling the women's 55 kg weightlifting event.
Several businesses and public officials also pledged to reward Diaz due to her achievement.
On Friday, the Ayala Foundation gave Diaz a new car as part of her rewards.
