Saso storms back after firing 6-under 65 in final round; Pagdanganan finishes with 1-over par

Philippine golf bet Yuka Saso rallied in the fourth and final round, firing 6-under par 65 in the women's individual stroke event of the Tokyo Olympics Saturday at the Kasumigaseki Country Club.

The 2021 U.S. Women's Open champion finished with a total of 274 (-10) through four rounds to climb to 10th place as of writing.

It was a strong showing for the 20-year-old golfer after a slow start to the event.

She finished the opening round at a surprising 47th place at 3-over par while capping off the second round with 68 to improve her standing to 34th place.

In the third round, Saso found her groove after she carded 4-under par 67 to leap 14 places higher.

Today, Saso hit 11 pars while she unleashed birdies on the 5th, 12th, 13th,  and 14th holes to keep her contention alive.

She bogeyed in the fourth but hit an eagle in the 17th hole and ultimately swung a birdie on the last hole to finish the day at 65.

On the opposite side of the pole was Bianca Pagdanganan.

The 23-year-old athlete had slid down to joint 43rd place through the four rounds after hitting 3-over par in the fourth round earlier.

Pagdanganan opened with a bogey on the 5th then a birdie on the 8th. She hit a total of 14 pars before ending the day with a double bogey on the 18th hole.
