Kristina Knott unable to advance to Olympic women's 200m semis
Kristina Knott will not be advancing to the semifinals.
The Filipino-American sprinter clocked 23.80 to finish last in Heat 7 in the women's 200m event of the Tokyo Olympics Monday at the Olympic Stadium.
Only the top three athletes in each heat, and three next best times, will advance to the semifinals set for later today.
American Jenna Prandini finished first in the heat with a time of 22.56. Also advancing to the semis were Gambia's Gina Bass (22.74) and Australia's Riley Day (22.94).
Also finishing ahead of Knott was Slovenia's Maja Mihalinec Zidar, who clocked in at 23.62, just ahead of the Filipina.
Knott will finish 37th overall out of the 41 competitors who recorded times from all seven heats.
Knott's personal best time is the current Philippine national record of 23.01, which she set back in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
