Hidilyn Diaz posts first photo after winning historic Olympic gold

Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz thanked everyone who supported her in her first social media post she made hours after her historic achievement.

In an Instagram story early Tuesday morning, Diaz posted a photo with the gold medal, with the caption, "Thank you for praying."

Diaz on Monday made history as the first Filipino who won a gold medal in the Olympic Games after ruling the women's weightlifting 55-kg event.

She was also a silver medalist during the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and a gold medalist in the 2018 Asian Games and 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
