Filipino athletes arrive in Tokyo, start preparing for Olympics


The members of the Philippine delegation have started arriving in Japan for the Tokyo Olympics.

Boxer Eumir Marcial and rower Cris Nievarez were the first to arrive in Japan on Saturday.

According to a post by the Philippine Olympic Committee on Sunday, Hidilyn Diaz arrived with her team, while fellow weightlifter Elreen Ando, shooter Jayson Valdez, and gymnast Carlos Yulo, followed suit.

Taekwondo jin Kurt Barbosa also posted about his arrival in Tokyo on Sunday.

The Philippine Rowing Association also shared updates about Nievarez's training in Tokyo which started this morning.

A total of 19 athletes will represent the Philippines in the Summer Games.
