Mau also made the announcement that she will play abroad, adding that her stint will run for two and a half months.

"I want you to hear it from me first that I will be playing abroad for a 2.5 month season. I plan to return to PH after this quick stint to compete in the PVL with my team @F2CargoMovers," Mau said in a tweet.

"With that being said, I will not be able to attend the National Team tryouts this week due to travel restrictions and safety risks. But my dream to play for the Philippine flag has and will not change," she added.

Mau was among the 40 players invited by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) for the women's indoor volleyball national team tryouts.

PNVF, meanwhile, started the RT-PCR swab tests for the invited players for indoor volleyball and beach volleyball tryouts which will start on Wednesday in Subic.

Among those who already had their swab tests were national team players Aby Maraño and Majoy Baron. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/JMB, GMA News
