Kamaru Usman defeats Jorge Masvidal with highlight-reel KO to retain UFC world title
Reigning UFC welterweight world champion Kamaru Usman left no doubts in his rematch against Jorge Masvidal, following a second-round knockout to retain his title in the main event of UFC 261 this Sunday at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Florida, USA.
Masvidal started the contest with jabs and leg kicks but it was Usman who landed the first clean punch with his right hand. Usman got the fight to the mat halfway through the round only to see Masvidal return to his feet and land clean strikes.
A perfectly timed right hand from Usman the next round dropped Masvidal defenseless to the canvas, he followed up with hammer fists which opted the referee to stop the contest at the 1:02 mark of round two.
The highlight-reel knockout was Usman's second win over Masvidal, improving his record to 19-1 while the latter fell to 35-15. — LA, GMA News
