Ben Askren will earn career high payday against Jake Paul


Former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight world champion Ben Askren will earn his highest fight purse to date when he takes on Youtube sensation Jake Paul in an eight-round boxing match on Sunday (Philippine time) at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, USA.

Though it is only Askren’s pro boxing debut, he is set to take home a $500,000 payday while Paul has a guaranteed purse of $690,000. The highest purse of the event will go to Regis Prograis as he is slated to take home $850,000 while his opponent Ivan Redkach will make $250,000.

Former UFC heavyweight world champion Frank Mir will also make his pro boxing debut with a purse of $350,000. His opponent, Steve Cunningham, will make $150,000.

The 24-year-old Paul, who is 2-0 with 2 knockouts as a pro, weighed in at 191.5lbs for the fight. Askren, meanwhile, tipped the scale at 191lbs. — LA, GMA News
