Dustin Poirier signs contract for McGregor trilogy

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier has signed the dotted line to face ex-two division champion Conor McGregor in a trilogy at UFC 264, according to a report by ESPN.
The pair first met inside the cage at UFC 178 in 2014 where the Irish mixed martial arts superstar triumphed by way of first-round technical knockout.
A rematch took place last January in the main event of UFC 257 where Poirier evened the score with a second-round technical knockout.
Both fighters have verbally expressed their desire to go at it again for the third time and it seems that it is about to happen if the report is to be believed.
The 32-year-old McGregor is 3-3 in his last six fights. He last won a fight inside the octagon against Donald Cerrone at UFC 257 in January 2020 where he won via first-round TKO. – JM Siasat/RC, GMA News
